August 2001 to present. Senior Agriculturalist, Soil Fertility Project, Department of Plant and Soil Sciences, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma. Supervisor of all field work and soil fertility experiments. Design, develop & implement new experiments for the Soil Fertility Project. Experiments included research in wheat, corn, grain sorghum, cotton, alfalfa, bermudagrass, and soybeans. Provide guidance and training to graduate students and undergraduate employees on plot research work, sampling techniques, and sample processing (forage, grain, and soil) for lab analysis. Design and conduct all field experiments and demonstrations for the Precision Agriculture Team. Oversee operation and maintenance of field equipment.August 1999 to July 2001. Thesis work with Oklahoma State University. Research targeted the use of red, green, and near-infrared spectral bands for determination of high yielding varieties (bread wheat, durum wheat, and triticale).
June 2001-present, frequent travel to CIMMYT headquarters (Texcoco, Mexico) and Sonora Research Station (Ciudad Obregon, Mexico) working with Dr. Ken Sayre on the development of sensor based technologies for third world farmers.
Participated in a collaborative project between the Chinese Academy of Sciences and USDA-ARS in July 2004. Responsibilities were to travel to Hebei Province providing instruction and training on using hand-held precision sensors in maize and wheat.
